BHC Potluck Guidelines

BHC big buffet

Not sure what to bring to a BHC Potluck? The Hospitality Committee offers these guidelines:

Items made with vegetarian, dairy and (fin) fish ingredients are perfect. Please make sure there are NO animal fats ("lard") or chicken broth in the item. 

Examples:

Savory -

BHC Dessert Buffet

Hot: Vegetarian dishes, such as spinach lasagna, macaroni and cheese, vegetarian chili; kugel; quiche; broccoli casserole; hors d'oeuvres (often sold as party-size appetizers in frozen food sections), such as spanakopita

Cold: Bagels, lox, cream cheese, tomato, onion; gefilte fish and horseradish; herring; deviled eggs; tuna or egg salad; green, Greek or Caesar salad; potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, pickles; cheese platter; hummus and veggies; guacamole and chips

Sweet - 

Cookies; brownies; cupcakes; pound cake; coffee cake; honey cake; rugalach; black-and-white cookies; mini cheesecakes or tarts; other baked goods such as bite-sized pastries; fruit

Snacks - 

Nuts; granola; dried fruit; chips; pretzels; fudge; candy
