BHC Lends Torah For North Conway Bat Mitzvah

By Martin Kessel

On Wednesday (11/6), I had the pleasure of meeting Daniel Palestrant when he returned the BHC Sefer Torah we lended his family for his daughter Jordan's Bat Mitzvah in North Conway. Daniel made a significant contribution to BHC in gratitude.

Daniel, his wife Deborah and their family came from Boston to live in North Conway during Covid and enjoyed being up here. The family is very interested in establishing a close relationship with BHC and plan to support upcoming Hanukkah and Tu b' Shvat winter celebrations at BHC.

The family brought some gifts to BHC from a nature-oriented Rom Farm on Mt. Kammon in the lower Galilee that he and his family support as part of their dedication to Israel.

The Bat Mitzvah held in a hotel near Conway on Shabbat Parashat Noach on 2nd November, 2024,. About 70 people, including family from Boston, attended. Because that Shabbat was also Rosh Hodesh, a second Sefer Torah was brought from Boston.

Daniel and his family are most grateful to BHC for lending them one of our Sefer Torahs.
