Unboxed: Opening Important Conversations, created by Rabbi Kirshbaum and Jewish Women International (JWI)

Unboxed: Opening Important Conversations is a card deck of conversation prompts about relationships: what it means to love, to value, to support. What it means to be vulnerable.

Jewish Women International is the leading Jewish organization championing women and girls by protecting their rights and safety, strengthening access to long-term economic security, and lifting and mentoring women leaders. Our Rabbi, Donna Kirshbaum, is among the rabbis credited in the development of this “game.”

The cards aim to inspire deep, meaningful conversations about family, love, and relationships. Each deck includes 52 cards, each providing an opportunity to spark thoughtful discussion around your views on relationships, your authentic identity, your needs in relationships – and how to meet them.

There are currently three editions:

  1. Shabbat: Infuses Shabbat tradition and wisdom into conversations around healthy relationships, for all ages.

  2. Gratitude: Filled with inspiring prompts around gratitude from a Jewish lens, for all ages.

  3. Wisdom: Sparks conversation about Jewish wisdom around aging, for adults ages 50+.

The cards are inspired by Jewish text and traditions. The cards were created by JWI’s Clergy Task Force on Domestic Abuse in the Jewish Community, and funded by Lippman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah and the Henry D. Kahn and Laura Primakoff Charitable Fund.

While the cards are offered at no charge, JWI accepts donations in $!8 increments.
