Do you ever dream about recreating Melissa’s mouthwatering challah? Well, here’s your chance to get a personal lesson from the master.
We will be baking Challahs for BHC for the High Holidays.
This will be a hands-on class and you will bring home a challah that is ready to be baked in your oven. It needs 35 minutes in the oven.
The class is expected to run approximately 4 hours, so eat a hearty breakfast before you come and if you want to bring a snack, bring enough to share!
Because Melissa will be providing the ingredients, she will need a count, so please RSVP by Aug 23. Depending on how many people sign up, we may need some people to bring a stand mixer and a bowl for dough rising. Let Melissa know if you have a stand mixer. Regular beaters and dough hooks are needed.
Please bring:
a baking sheet (absolutely needed)
a 4 cup glass measuring cup, a 2 cup glass measuring cup,
a set of measuring cups and measuring spoons,
a wooden cutting board to knead the dough,
a wooden spoon and a rubber spatula.
If you have a bench scraper to cut dough, bring that too.
If you don’t have any of these things, we’ll share.
If you can, please bring $10 or a check made out to BHC to be contributed to the hospitality fund. Or donate to the fund here.
